French title-contenders Monaco could make a shock move for Tottenham Hotspur defender Kyle Walker in either January or next summer as they step up their search for a new right-back, according to the Daily Telegraph.
The English full-back is thought to have emerged as one of Monaco's top targets, alongside Arsenal star Bacary Sagna.
The Frenchman has been their top target, but after seeing that the Gunners are trying to tie him to a new deal Monaco have switched their sights across London, with Walker at the top of a new summer shopping list.
The full-back signed a new contract in October until the summer of 2019, but according to reports in France Monaco will try to lure him away from White Hart Lane as early as January 2014.
We all know Monaco have the money, but whether Tottenham are prepared to sell another of their top players remains an unanswered question.
Walker has been impressive for Spurs this term and recently scored a great free-kick goal against Man United, providing a constant attacking threat on the right wing to match his solid efforts in defence.
Tottenham just had a change in management with AVB shown the door on Monday, which leaves any incomings or outgoings at White Hart Lane very much up in the air.
A transfer seems very unlikely now, but things can change very quickly when the transfer window reopens.
