Published Add your comment

Jessica Ennis-Hill enjoyed an ‘amazing’ day with Alicia Armstrong as part of Sky Sports’ ‘My Special Day’ series.

The Olympic gold medalist is a heroine of the 12-year-old, who was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia back in May 2012.

Having watched Ennis-Hill scoop gold in London whilst recovering in hospital, the youngster set herself a target of competing in a triathlon after her treatment was complete.

And, she accomplished her mission in July, with her sights then set on The Great North Run in September. Alicia again defied the odds to complete the race, and was rewarded with an opportunity to train with Ennis-Hill.

As it turned out, it was a great experience for both parties.

“It was amazing to meet Alicia – she was such a strong girl and it was a pleasure to take her for a training session," she told her official Facebook page.
