Despite having won at White Hart Lane once already this season, West Ham will be underdogs as they take on Tottenham tonight.

Although Spurs may have had the better of the play in that defeat, they were unable to score and the 3-0 score, although not indicative of their performance on that day, was indicative of their erratic performances this season.

Although Tottenham do not have a permanent manager as of yet, how will they respond to AVB's departure?

Tonight's game will be a good indicator as to whether Spurs will react positively, turn their season around, and fight for a Champions League spot; or if they will tank and lost out on Europe's biggest and most lucrative competition for a third season in a row.

Tottenham are coming up against a West Ham side who have been struggling of late and it will be vital for them to jump on the Hammers early. Spurs fans should look to support their club during this adjustment period.

Therefore, should they look good early on, West Ham may be demoralised which they can take advantage of.

The likes of Lamela and Townsend will likely need to be effective and should, in this game, stand out on the flanks. Lamela, with his dribbling and Townsend with his pace, should prove a difficult task for West Ham's defence. For West Ham, they will try to get an early lead to discourage any positive Spurs feeling following the managerial change.

Prediction:

This is the beginning of a new period for Spurs. They should live up to the expectations in this one and take the game 2-0. They have the greater quality and at home should dispatch their cross-town rivals with relative ease.
