Manchester United could hand a debut to rising talent Charni Ekangamene during tonight's Capital One Cup clash against Stoke City, according to the Daily Mail.

The 19-year-old is believed to have impressed staff at Old Trafford during the U-21 side's fixture this week, and was handed the No.43 jersey by David Moyes in preparation for making his first senior appearance for the club.

United's squad has been ravaged with injuries of late, particularly in midfield- where Ekangamene plays- and Moyes is definitely without Michael Carrick and Marouane Fellaini and could also have to field a side without Ryan Giggs.

That leaves just Anderson and Tom Cleverly as the regular first-team members available for selection in central midfielder and, although Darren Fletcher could start having finally recovered from his crippling stomach problems, Ekangamene is likely to take a place on the bench.

Moyes has received plenty of credit for giving Adnan Januzaj his opportunity to shine this year, and United fans will most certainly be hoping that Ekangamene is a gem cut from the same stone.
