Arsenal and Liverpool have fallen behind in the race to sign Turkish midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu after Galatasaray have told the star they want to sign him in January, reports talkSPORT.
Despite Hamburg insisting their prize asset will not be sold, a number of clubs continue to be linked with the midfielder.
However it now seems Galatasaray are leading the race ahead of Liverpool and Arsenal for the player's signature.
The youngster, speaking to Europsport France, said: "Tugay Kerimoglu, Galatarasaray's assistant coach, phoned me and told me that they want to sign me as soon as this winter."
It remains to be seen as to whether Liverpool and Arsenal will now make a move for the star in order to keep him out of the grasp of Galatasaray.
With the January transfer window approaching both Arsenal and Liverpool could look to add to their squads in order to continue their title challenge.
Arsenal currently lead the Premier League, but are closely followed by Liverpool who sit in second place just two points behind the Gunners.
Liverpool have the chance to go top of the Premier League with a victory over Cardiff City this weekend as Arsenal take on fellow title rivals Chelsea on Monday night.
