Oregan Ducks' 5ft 8in guard marks UC Irvine's 7ft 6in center

It doesn't take a genius to work out that a 5ft 8in point guard might not have to too much success marking a 7ft 6in center.

Try telling that to the University of Oregon, who deployed pint-sized Jonathan Loyd to tackle the task of keeping an eye on walking giant Mamadou Ndiaye of UC Irvine.

The literal David vs Goliath encounter was caught on camera with hilarious consequences as the 5ft 8 Loyd did his best to stifle the advantages of Ndiaye who, standing at 7ft 6, has a height advantage of almost two feet.

However that particular battle made little difference to the overall outcome of the match, as the tiny point guard's Oregon Ducks ran out 91-63 winners over the Irvine Anteaters.

The Ducks continued their incredible winning record, which now stands at 10-0, whilst the Anteaters dipped to 6-6 following the loss.

On this occasion it's fair to determine that size really isn't everything in basketball.
