Swansea striker Michu has asked the club to inquire about the availability of out of favour Liverpool player Iago Aspas, according to Sky Sports.

Since moving to to Merseyside the Spaniard has only played seven times for the Reds, despite a successful pre-season where he found the net four times.

Michu and Aspas played with each other when they were both at Celta Vigo before Michu’s £2million move to Swansea.

Both Swansea and Liverpool will be hoping that Aspas can capture the same form as Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku who is currently on loan on Everton following a successful loan spell at West Brom.

Aspas scored a 51 goals from 190 appearances for Celta Viga, netting 12 times in his final and first season in the Spanish top flight.

Swansea arguably face the toughest Christmas and January fixture list in the Premier League so will need a strong squad to make sure they do not plummet down the table.

In form Everton, Manchester City and Tottenham travel to the Liberty stadium, which is combined with away trips to Chelsea, Aston Villa and two appearances at Old Trafford against Manchester United in the FA Cup and Premier League.
