Borussia Dortmund have potentially unearthed a new gem in the form of new Japanese midfield loanee Mitsuru Maruoka from Cerezko Osaka, the same club from which they purchased Shinji Kagawa back in 2010.
Earlier this year, Jurgen Klopp was said to have been sad and heartbroken over ex-Borussia Dortmund star and fan favourite Kagawa's bit-part role at Manchester United following his transfer in June 2012 and there have been murmurs among fans of der BVB possibly going back for their former playmaker next summer.
While that could still be a possible scenario, it would be unlikely that they would be able to get their man with Henrikh Mkhitaryan enjoying a bright start to his Dortmund career.
According to Goal.com, Mitsuru will join up with Dortmund's u23 side in January and will remain with the German-outfit until June 2015 at least as Dortmund have the option to buy Mitsuru at the end of his loan spell.
Maruoka will be the fourth Japanese player in recent years to transfer from Cerezko Osaka to a Bundesliga club, with Kagawa and fellow former Cerezko players Takeshi Inui and Hiroshi Kiyotake, at Eintracht Frankfurt and FC Hannover respectively
