Swansea City striker Michu wants Liverpool outcast Iago Aspas to join him in South Wales on loan this January, according to the Independent.
“Iago has had injuries, but he has quality. He deserves to play in the Premier League.”
Aspas has fallen behind Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge in the Liverpool pecking order and may look for a temporary move away for regular football.
Liverpool signed the Spaniard from Celta Vigo for £7.2 million after the forward scored 12 goals and claimed seven assists last term.
But Aspas has only been handed seven appearances this season by Brendan Rodgers and could be loaned out in January.
“He has been unlucky,” Michu added. “At Liverpool, they have Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge, who have scored a lot of goals. Suarez is, along with Diego Costa and others, one of the best strikers in Europe.”
Swansea would be very interested in the potential deal after just missing out on the player in the summer, but Liverpool may prefer to keep the striker whilst Daniel Sturridge is out injured.
If the move were to happen Aspas would join up with a strong Spanish contingent at Swansea, which includes Michu, Chico Flores, Angel Rangel and Pablo Hernandez.
