Arsenal's players got into the festive spirit on Wednesday night as they gathered for their Christmas celebrations, with the club's various stars donning an array of fancy dress outfits from superheroes to children's TV characters.

Superman, RoboCop and Fred Flintstone - otherwise known as Mesut Özil, Wojciech Szczesny and Ryo Miyaichi - were all in attendance at the bash, which appeared to take place in the relatively tepid atmosphere of someone's living room.

The effort of the Arsenal players was certainly a far cry from the halcyon days of the traditional Christmas party, where stars would unwind with 15 pints, flirtation with a lapdancer, a brief punch-up and a night in a cell.
