Frank de Boer's agent Guido Albers has revealed that Tottenham have indicated their interest in securing the services of his client following Andre Villas Boas's sacking - but he insists the Dutchman is focused on Ajax.
Villas Boas, who is one of the youngest managers in recent times, was initially productive at White Hart Lane - but as the Premier League became tougher, the former Chelsea manager could no longer find the results he needed with his team.
Following a heavy defeat against Manchester City and the 5-0 demolition of the Lane by Liverpool, the decision was reached to lay off the 36-year-old manager.
And now, the English club are lining up different options and considering various managers - from which they intend to pick a replacement for AVB.
During this process, Frank de Boer's agent claims that Tottenham have indicated interest in hiring his client, who is the current Ajax coach.
The agent Guido Albers told Voetbal International that he is aware of Spurs' interest in the De Boer.
"Through several channels it became clear to me that Spurs would have an interest," he revealed.
"But the club did not come to Ajax. So from our point of view there's not much to say about it. Frank isn't even thinking about it. He's fully focusing on Ajax."
The 43-year-old Ajax manager is regarded as one of Europe's brightest young coaches, having led his side to three consecutive Eredivisie titles and a series of impressive displays in the Champions League.
A move to White Hart Lane would see the former Netherlands international reunite with former Ajax stars Jan Vertonghen and Christian Eriksen.
