Andrea Bargnani was a lucky man last night. The Italian power forward could have cost the New York Knicks the game with an ill-advised attempt for a three in overtime, only for his team to eventually triumph over the Milwaukee Bucks.
The Knicks were 94-92 up with only 11 seconds left on the clock when Bargnani took the risk of shooting from range and this gamble failed to pay off. His shot came bouncing back of the rim, allowing the Bucks to claim the rebound.
Bargnani could have kept the ball and allowed the time to tick down with the Knicks two points up, but instead allowed the Bucks to score the two points needed in their next possession to take the game into double overtime.
Thankfully for the 28-year-old, who joined from the Toronto Raptors during the off-season, the Knicks were able to recover in the second period of overtime and secure a 107-101 win to take their record to 8-17.
