Legendary Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson earned £50,000 for charity on Thursday night after appearing on ITV quiz show Who Wants To Be A Celebrity Millionaire.
The 71-year-old teamed up with television host and fellow Manchester United fan Eamonn Holmes.
The duo answered eight questions to build up a prize fund of £75,000, but they failed to correctly answer the £150,000 question, which meant they lost £25,000.
The question was: 'What name is given to the indentation on one side of a common brick?'
Despite being uncertain with their gut-feeling, they opted to gamble by answering with 'A: Newt'.
However, the correct answer was 'B: Frog'.
Still, Ferguson and Holmes managed to go home with £50k for their nominated charity, the Manchester United foundation.
