Premier League duo Manchester United and Arsenal will battle it out to sign Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio in January, according to the Metro.
Manchester United were linked with the £25m-rated Juventus star in the summer - but could not tempt the 27-year-old Italian away from his native Italy.
However reports suggest Marchisio could be sold in January due to his side's premature exit from the Champions League.
Serie A giants Juventus will lose around £17million for failing to qualify for the last 16 of the Champions League.
And Antonio Conte is said to be prepared to let Marchisio move on to pastures new, as he is desperate to keep hold of the likes of Carlos Tevez, Paul Pogba and Arturo Vidal.
Manchester United will face competition from Premier League leaders Arsenal, as Arsene Wenger is keen on bolstering his options in order for his side to maintain their early season form.
