Football is a joy; that joy usually comes from playing the game as a child in the street, the school playground, local bit of grass or dirt – wherever the space is.
It is this joy that is the motivation for most people to play the game.
However, the professional game and the commercial juggernaut that is the Premier League has taken much of that joy and overshadowed it with money, fury and righteous indignation.
Much of top flight football has become a tiresome circus, but once the whistle blows there are some players that make you forget all of that and remind you of that initial joy.
Certain players excel by not overcomplicating things and down opponents with natural ability, exceptional invention and a pure delight in making the beautiful game, beautiful.
