Batista is returning to the WWE in early 2014.

The former World Heavyweight and WWE Champion is set to make his return to the company in February 2014, where WWE will be holding a live event at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

It has been revealed by that 'The Animal' is scheduled to appear at the event and it is not an advertising error, something the WWE has been guilty of committing many times in the past.

As you can expect, the WWE will not be pleased with the leak as Batista returning was supposed to be a massive surprise, where he could have been returning at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view as a surprise entrant, whether the WWE now go ahead with that surprise remains to be seen.

Batista left the WWE on good terms in 2010, citing the direction the company is going in as the reason for his departure, but with close relations and friendships with the likes of Triple H in the company, it was always a matter of 'when' and not 'if', regarding the return of Batista.

He moved on from the WWE, attempting to carve out a career in Hollywood which did not exactly pan out well, although he has had roles in films such as Riddick and an upcoming Marvel title, as well as taking part in one MMA fight, and winning.

The WWE reached out to Dave Batista numerous times, where he continued to decline and revealed on his Twitter account that no deal was ever in place with the company, and saying he will always be a WWE guy - so a potential TNA switch was never in question.

Many sources predicted that Batista would never return to the WWE until he finished promoting his film - Guardians of the Galaxy - which is released in theaters in August 2014, but it looks like the WWE will not be waiting half a year to bring back one of their prized assets.

The 44-year-old's return to the company opens the door for a number of possibilities at WrestleMania XXX, with many speculating that his return could prompt John Cena to take on The Undertaker, leaving Brock Lesnar to take on The Animal.

Matches against John Cena, Triple H are Ryback are also possibilities, but the question is whether Batista will return as a face to the company, or return in the manner he left, a heel.
