Chelsea have reached a €15m agreement for the transfer of Serbian wonderkid Lazar Markovic from Benfica, according to Portuguese newspaper O Jogo.
The 19-year-old winger, who has been capped nine times by Serbia, has been on the Blues' radar ever since he broke into the Partizan Belgrade first team in 2011.
Indeed, earlier this year the teenager looked set to complete a move to Stamford Bridge, before he surprisingly finalised a transfer to Benfica.
Months later Markovic claimed that Chelsea had made a mistake by failing to secure his services.
"They did not sign me? Their error," he was quoted as saying by A Bola in September.
However, Markovic could now be on his way to west London, after his general agent Pini Zahavi agreed a deal with the Blues' owner Roman Abramovich.
The €15m fee would reportedly be split between Zahavi and Benfica, with the latter only making a small profit on the €6.25m they paid to Partizan.
However, there is a possibility that Markovic could spend the rest of the season - and potentially next season, too - on loan with the Portuguese giants.
