Manchester United defender Alexander Buttner has been linked with a January move to Fulham, reports the Daily Mirror.
The 24-year-old has been identified by new Cottagers boss Rene Meulensteen, who wants to raid his former club for the Dutchman's services when the transfer window reopens.
Buttner has fallen out of favour under new Red Devils boss David Moyes, and could be allowed to leave Old Trafford at the turn of the year.
Meulensteen has been unconvinced by the form of Fulham's current left-back John Arne Riise, and has been deploying former Manchester United player Kieran Richardson on the left side of defence.
A January move for a new left-back is at the top of the west London club's transfer priorities, and they are ready to rival Serie 'A' duo Roma and Genoa for Buttner's signature.
The former Vitesse Arnhem star's agent has already revealed offers for his client from Italy, but news of Fulham's reported interest might tempt Buttner to remain in the Premier League.
