2. Gianluigi Buffon

In 2001, Gianluigi Buffon left Parma for Juventus. He hasn't looked back since.

The 35-year-old has cemented his reputation as one of Juventus's best ever goalkeepers - and one of Italy's, too - thanks to years of consistent performances in between the sticks.

Buffon has won multiple titles during his glittering career, including four Serie A titles and, of course, the 2006 World Cup.

In the same year he narrowly missed out on the prestigious Ballon d'Or award.
