Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are now in a three-way tussle to land former Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov in the January transfer window.

According to The Express, Turkish side Galatasaray are keen on the Fulham star and are ready to rival the Gunners and Spurs for his signature if he decides to leave Craven Cottage once the winter window opens again.

The report claims Arsene Wenger is desperate to find another centre-forward in January to help lighten the load on Olivier Giroud, who has begun to look jaded in recent matches after months of being Arsenal's only viable senior striker.

New Tottenham manager Tim Sherwood, who was appointed on a permanent basis on Monday night, is also be on the lookout for a new striker, according to the report, as he looks to get Spurs' season back on track.

Berbatov could be seen by the north London rivals as a perfect short-term solution, especially as he has only six months left on his Fulham contract and his agent revealed he was unhappy with life at the Cottagers.

He has shown since his move there from Manchester United last summer that he is still able to produce top quality performances, though not as regularly as you would like. He would also be available for European competition, which is especially useful for Arsenal in the Champions League and Tottenham in the Europa League.

However, the report claims Gala boss Roberto Mancini is keen to add firepower to his ranks to help support the likes of Didier Drogba and Burak Yilmaz, so Wenger and Sherwood will have to prepare for a fight.
