There was no sign of Juan Mata when Chelsea took on Arsenal yesterday at the Emirates.
It has now become a well renowned and popular story regarding Mata's inability to start games under new Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho. Starts have been few and far between for him this season but the impact he has made during the time he has played is quite commendable.
This has become a huge debate among the Chelsea fans and they have been left to wonder, Who is better? Oscar or Mata?
Mourinho has favoured Oscar and in the starting games dropped Mata and used him as a rotation option.
This decision baffled most people as the dropping of the player who won the Chelsea Player of the Season in the last two seasons isn't natural.
After seeing what the Spaniard is going through he should be given the chance to leave the club.
The likes of Willian and Eden Hazard have also managed to impress the Portuguese gaffer and will provide further competition for Mata.
The little Spaniard has been told to improve his defensive ability by Mourinho but trying to make Mata defend will take away from his exceptional ability.
He has scored just a single goal this season and that also being the League Cup goals against Arsenal.
Chelsea now have Willian, Oscar and Hazard who can be utilised in place of Mata. If the Blues can make a tidy profit on the £23.5m they bought him for, they should sell him and move on.
