Having conceded two goals in the first 13 minutes of action, it is certainly accurate to say that Manchester United did not enjoy the greatest of starts to their Boxing Day tie away to Hull City at the KC Stadium.
With James Chester and David Meyler having putting the Premier League newboys comfortably ahead, it appeared as if the defending champions were set for another miserable afternoon under the tutelage of David Moyes.
However, suddenly everything changed in a matter of moments and Manchester United finally appeared to have regained a crucial sense of resilience that had, up until now at least, been woefully lacking for the most part under the new Old Trafford regime.
Such character was signified by a truly stunning goal by the talismanic figure of one Wayne Rooney.
After Chris Smalling had got Manchester United right back into the game with a header in the 19th minute, England striker Rooney put his side firmly on the comeback trail with a breathtaking effort seven minutes later.
