Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is prepared to let Demba Ba join Inter Milan if it means he can lure Manchester United target Fredy Guarin to Stamford Bridge.

The Metro claim Chelsea will use Ba as a sweetener in order to tempt Inter Milan into selling the Colombian midfielder to the Blues.

Mourinho is said to be desperate to land the Inter Milan star as he is keen to add another deep-lying midfielder to his ranks.

The Chelsea boss has just four holding midfielders at his disposal, with Michael Essien, Frank Lampard, Ramires and John Obi Mikel the only players at Stamford Bridge who are able to play in a defensive midfield role.

Chelsea will reportedly face stiff competition from Premier League rivals Manchester United for Guarin's signature as David Moyes is also in the market for a central midfielder.

However Chelsea seem to have stolen the march on Manchester United and Ba's inclusion in any potential deal could see the Blues land their number one midfield target.
