9. Luis Suarez

Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has taken his game to new heights in 2013 but in particular during the last three months, where his frighteningly consistent form has seen the Uruguay striker provide a genuine case to be considered alongside world football's truly elite performers.

Suarez returned from an 10-match suspension in September and has never looked back, shrugging off a turbulent summer to produce a quite stunning 19 goals in 13 Premier League appearances so far this season.

The 26-year-old recently signed a new contract and has the perfect platform to produce the best football of his career on a long-term basis at Anfield, if admirers from on the continent don't come calling.
