After an Italian newspaper published quotes attributed to Silvio Berslusconi about the availability of Mario Balotelli in January, AC Milan have today denied any rumours of an exit.
Silvio Berlusconi is reported to have a fractious relationship with the enigmatic Italian striker, and the reported quotes were of a new development in their disagreements.
Berlisconi was reported to be determined to sell Balotelli in January for a knock-down price to get him away from the club.
However, Milan have sought to disprove these rumours in a statement on the club’s official website:
"AC Milan deny absolutely and with strength the declarations that would have been referred to the Milan president about an unthinkable collocation of Mario Balotelli on the market.
"Mario Balotelli is and remains a Milan player."
Balotelli is understood to be unsettled at the Rossoneri, with Chelsea expressing interest in the former Manchester City player.
Despite his combative nature and defiant attitude, Balotelli is one of Europe’s most talented strikers, and would attract the interest of a number of high profile clubs were he to become available.
