So far this season, Chelsea's strikers haven't been at the goal scoring front with Fernando Torres, Samuel Eto'o and Demba Ba scoring just five goals between them.

Despite a lack of goals from their strike force, Chelsea sit in a very comfortable third place behind current leaders Arsenal and second-place Manchester City.

There are many strikers that Chelsea should target in the January transfer window. With Roman Abramovich's millions to spend, these players could be soon making the trip to West London to sign for Chelsea.

5. Christian Benteke

Up first is Christian Benteke of Aston Villa. The Belgian striker joined the Birmingham-based side in 2012 from Belgian team Genk for a fee of around £7 million. He has Premier League experience, so a move to Chelsea could be a possibility. However an injury could rule out any potential moves to Chelsea, or any side in the up coming transfer window.

4. Radamel Falcao

Next is the Colombian Falcao. He currently plays for AS Monaco in the French league and joined the newly-rich club in the summer of 2013. Falcao has been linked with moves to Chelsea in the past, so a move this January might not be too far off. Reports of a falling out at Monaco has increased reported interest from teams vying for his signature. Although he is a new signing, Falcao would be top of many Chelsea fans' striker wishlist.

3. Jackson Martinez

Another possible Chelsea signing is Jackson Martinez. Currently, he plays his football for Portuguese side FC Porto. The Colombian international has quickly become a fan favourite at the Estádio do Dragão. As Jose Mourinho is no stranger to Porto, could he raid his former club for a new striker?

2. Gonzalo Higuaín

Despite signing for current club Napoli in the summer, Gonzalo Higuaín is a reported transfer target for Chelsea. Jose Mourinho has worked with the Argentine at former club Real Madrid. Chelsea could give Napoli a quick and healthy profit on their striker. Could Gonzalo Higuaín be swapping Napoli for Chelsea in January?

1. Wayne Rooney

The number one striker that Chelsea should target in January is Wayne Rooney. Throughout the summer, the story of Wayne Rooney to Chelsea was all in the news, with Manchester United manager David Moyes saying he wasn't for sale ended any possibility for a transfer in the summer. Could Jose Mourinho try to sign Wayne Rooney once again come the January transfer window?

With Chelsea's current strikers not delivers the amount of goals expected from them, could we see a signing from Jose Mourinho in January?

What do you think? Will Chelsea splash the cash on a new striker, or will they keep faith in their current strikers? Come deadline day, we'll find out.
