Hull midfielder Tom Huddlestone took time out to get a quick haircut by the side of the pitch after scoring in his side's emphatic 6-0 victory over Fulham.

Huddlestone, 27, scored for the first time since netting against Arsenal for former club Tottenham Hotspur almost three years ago.

He vowed to grow his hair until he scored again, raising money for charity in the process. He has struggled with injuries over this period, leading to a longer than anticipated drought, and the relief was evident to see on Huddlestone's face as he ran over to the technical area.

He was greeted by a member of the coaching staff brandishing a pair of scissors, who subsequently chopped off a chunk of his frizzy hair.

The goal coincided with the midfielder's 27th birthday and a rampant team performance, leading to cause for triple celebration in the Huddlestone household.

And there could be further joy for the former Tottenham and Derby as his recent impressive performances have led to suggestions he could be called up to Roy Hodgson's England squad.
