Alex Song believes there are very few differences between his former and current clubs, Arsenal and Barcelona.

The Cameroon international feels that only the quality of the playing staff being attracted to the Camp Nou is the one thing different from the Gunners set up.

Song moved to Barcelona from Arsenal in the summer of 2012 for a reported £15million but has so far failed to make much of an impact at the Catalan club.

However, he believes that his transition from the Emirates Stadium to the champions of Spain did not require much acclimatisation, such is the similarities between how both clubs are run.

"Arsenal have the same style of play as Barça. There are not many differences. The main difference is the quality of players," he is quoted as saying by Le 10 Sport.

"Barça has the world's best players, Arsenal has great players. The philosophy is the same, the style is the same.

"This is why it was easy for me. I had nothing to learn in particular, it is the same style of play"

Some would argue that the amount of success Song has had since leaving the Premier League for La Liga would suggest he still has a lot to learn at Barcelona, however similar he believes the styles are.

Many believe the departure of Song, after the loss of Robin van Persie, last summer contributed to their nightmare start to last season, though they did not miss him for too long as they are currently sitting top of the league.
