Liverpool are close to sealing a deal to take Barcelona winger Tello to Anfield for the the remainder of the season.
According to Marca, the Spain U21 midfielder is desperate for more playing time and the Camp Nou club are willing to let him go on loan in January to grant his wish.
The report claims Tello is "one-step" away from securing a temporary move to join Brendan Rodgers' side in their Premier League title challenge, which has taken some damage in recent weeks.
Barcelona tied the 22-year-old down to a new deal in the summer but playing time has been scarce under Gerardo Martino this season and it is a situation that looks unlikely to change, what with Barcelona currently top of La Liga.
Liverpool fell to a 2-1 defeat at Chelsea on Sunday, just three days after losing by the same scoreline at Manchester City, which left them six points behind top of the table Arsenal and their title challenge looking more unlikely to succeed.
Rodgers has admitted he is looking to make further additions to his squad once the January transfer window opens and Tello could provide a good option for the Liverpool manager.
A graduate of Barcelona's famed La Masia academy, Tello is a strong winger with an eye for goal who can play all across the front if required.
