As the beautiful game of football continues to dominate sport across the globe, a new millennial generation of fans are being gripped by its magic.
The football industry is emerging as one of the rising markets in the world today, boasting an economy of multi-billion dollar spending and the seven-figure club revenues.
It can easily be noticed that the craze for football and its influence upon the people have spread far beyond the borders of Europe and South America - once considered the cradles of the sport’s enthusiasm.
Almost about a century ago, football was a new game for many around the world. But throughout the course of the past five decades the game has graced many new lands in countless nations, from the remote Japanese islands in the East to the United States of the West and the African continent in the south.
But nowhere has the rise of football been more obvious and dramatic than its development in the United States.
At the seat of world power, the nation is a diverse mix of metropolitan cultures and traditions and that’s how the sport found its way in.
The game has gained such popularity in the United States that many say it lies on the brink of overcoming the nation's other sporting interest such as basketball, baseball and American football.
In recent years the US's MLS (Major League Soccer) has received immense and rather unexpected demand and approval from the American people.
The dwindling attendances at stadiums are memories of a past long gone as the approaches a new era of sports and culture. The MLS has attracted a new generation of Americans, one that's tired of the NBA or NFS and cant wait for adventure of a new taste.
The league is sure find its place among one of the world's top ten before long and many are already beginning to eye the American pools in search for young talented players.
Naturally the MLS boasts one of the largest financial budgets in the world as well as its sky-soaring demands and chanting audiences.
The MLS does not only provide aspiring American footballers with a stage to shine on but it is also the hosts to some of the world's most iconic talents.
The last World Cup in South Africa saw the United States put together some stunning performances on the pitch impressing the world before them and that has inspired many optimistic Americans to support the nation and be part of the world's ever-increasing football community.
If football in America continues to climb the rungs of fame and popularity in such rate as it is today, then I certainly believe that it can overcome the nation's other major sports and win the favour of the American people.
But to accomplish that the MLS clubs must strive to their utmost to catch the spotlight of world and media attention and thus inspire the nation to dedicate their fanfare to the cause of football and take pride in the game.
Football in America has a huge potential to fulfil before them and dazzling future that lies ahead ablaze with a dream of prominence as a footballing nation.
I strongly believe that the America the world knows today can go all the way up to where the top European teams are today in terms of public anticipation and popularity of football.
As Brazil 2014 looms even closer, the heroes of American football are set to embark on yet another epic contest to prove their might in world football - and as they take on the world on the soil of South America next summer, their fans will be their greatest weapon.
