Arsenal striker wanted by two English clubs

Arsenal striker Chuba Akpom could join either Leyton Orient or Brentford on loan in January, according to the Daily Star.

The 18-year-old made his Gunners' debut in September's 3-1 Premier League victory over Sunderland, while he also made a substitute appearance in the Capital One Cup third round win against West Bromwich Albion in the same month.

However, the England Under-19 international has not featured in the Arsenal first-team since, and is reportedly open to a loan move away from the Emirates Stadium next month.

League One leaders Brentford and second-placed Leyton Orient are both keen to sign the promising striker, who signed his first professional contract with Arsenal in November 2012.

However, promotion-chasing Peterborough and mid-table MK Dons are also keen to sign the London-born forward.

It's believed that Brentford would be favourites to secure his services on a temporary basis, though, as Head of Academy Recruitment Shaun O'Connor played a key role in bringing the striker to the Emirates Stadium during his spell with the north London outfit.
