With its potential to drastically alter the course of a team's season, the January transfer window tends to be one packed full of sensational deals and last-gasp drama that keeps fans hooked right up until the final few hours of the month.

However, due to the obvious desperation of many teams attempting to do serious business at the start of the year, January deals often tend to be completed in rushed, panicked fashion for seemingly exorbitant and over-inflated transfer fees.
