If reports are to be believed, Liverpool are said to be close to signing Egyptian winger Mohammed Salah from Swiss club FC Basel.
The 21 year old Egyptian has impressed many by delivering a series of good performances in the Champions League.
Brendan Rodgers has stressed the need for bolstering the squad and a transfer in January for the Basel star looks imminent.
Other clubs such as Tottenham, Chelsea and Manchester City are also said to be interested in securing the signature of the 21-year-old but the Reds are believed to be in pole position.
He has got creativity and has goal in him and he can be the one who can help Liverpool to mount on the most open title race the Premier League has seen in years.
He has scored 17 goals in 27 appearances for the Egyptian national side and these statistics reflect the kind of player he is.
Reports also suggest that he may well be available to Liverpool in the region of £7 million and may turn out to be a big bargain buy.
The signing of Salah would certainly represent some value and intent, especially when placed in a juxtaposition to the mammoth £85 million combined fee that Andy Carroll and Fernando Torres infamously moved for almost three years ago.
