Manchester United are being linked with a £1.5million move for Turkish international goalkeeper Mert Gunok.
The Daily Star claims the Red Devils have set their transfer sights on the 24-year-old as a potential replacement for Anders Lindegaard, who is tipped to leave the Premier League champions in the transfer window this month.
Gunok would serve as back-up for Manchester United number one David de Gea, with manager David Moyes hoping the stopper can provide the Spaniard with competition at Old Trafford.
A full international for his country, Gunok has never been first choice at Fenerbahce since graduating from the club's youth team back in 2009.
If he does join the Red Devils, then his situation is likely to remain the same for the foreseeable future, with De Gea proving himself as one of the division's best after initial question marks following Sir Alex Ferguson's big-money purchase back in 2011.
Improved competition could help bring even more out of the 23-year-old however, and the Manchester United manager will hope that, if he does sign Gunok, it inspires the Spaniard to even better performances.
