Manchester United starlet to remain at Wigan Athletic

Wigan Athletic manager Uwe Rosler is confident Manchester United boss David Moyes will let Nick Powell stay at the DW Stadium for the rest of the season.

Powell has impressed for the Championship outfit this season, scoring eight goals in 24 games for Wigan since moving to the Latics at the beginning of September.

Moyes had suggested that he wanted to recall Powell in order to get a closer look at the attacking midfielder before deciding whether to send the 19-year-old back out on loan.

A host of Premier League sides are reportedly interested in taking Powell on loan, however Rosler believes the England Under-21 starlet could remain at Wigan.

Speaking to the Wigan Evening Post, Rosler said:

"I have had more good dialogue with David Moyes and I know where we are.

"That's all I can say for now. But look at my face - I am smiling - so that tells you it's not the worst news. That says something."

Fellow Wigan Athletic loanee Will Keane on the other hand has already returned to Old Trafford as he is currently nursing a hamstring injury.

Moyes must also decide whether he wants to keep the likes of Jesse Lingard, Federico Macheda and Ryan Tunnicliffe at Old Trafford.
