As the Premier League braces itself for another month of transfer speculation, shuns and signings there are a group of players still looking to match their potential to the support of their manager or backing from the crowd.

A terrific title tussle involving at least four clubs leaves little room for emotion or favourites when it comes to bosses picking their best XI's, which has left top international stars forced to accept reduced roles at Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City.
