Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy has been named the NFC offensive player of the month for December.
The No.25 was in sparkling form for the NFC East champions, averaging close to 120-yards per game in his five appearances last month.
McCoy’s performances proved pivotal to Chip Kelly’s side claiming the divisional title, and thus securing their place in the playoffs – with a game against the New Orleans Saints next up on Saturday night.
Despite not getting into the End Zone against the Arizona Cardinals on December 1st, ‘Shady’ had over 100-total yards of offence. He then exploded in the snow against the Detroit Lions a week later, with a franchise record 217 rushing yards and two scores in the victory.
After a tough loss against the Minnesota Vikings, the Eagles bounced back to beat the Chicago Bears a week later, and McCoy was then instrumental in his team’s crucial victory in Dallas in the final game of the regular season.
The Eagles will hope McCoy can produce some more of his magic at the Lincoln Financial Field in the wildcard round this weekend, as the 10-6 outfit look to go deep into January in pursuit of a trip to the Super Bowl.
