Arturo Vidal could be on his way to Manchester United to boost the midfield as the champions are lining up a lucrative contract for the 26-year-old, according to the Daily Express.

With the midfield an area in which the Red Devils are looking to strengthen, a player with the talents of Vidal's would be a welcome addition to any squad, let alone the champions, who are currently way off the pace in the Premier League and looking for that glimpse of magic to get their title challenge back on track.

With David Moyes' only signing since taking charge at Old Trafford being Marouane Fellaini on deadline day, he has failed to make an impact. To make matters worse for Manchester United, the Belgian is also out until February with an injury that he sustained over the Christmas period.

After a disappointing summer in terms of comings in at United, they have failed to add that big name to their squad.

With United failing in their efforts of signing the likes of former Arsenal man Cesc Fabregas and of course the circus act that was the Ander Herrera negotiations where imposters claiming to be Manchester United officials attempted to push the deal through on deadline day. This eventually resulted in the deal falling through and left United fans wondering what on earth was going on.

Although the Chile international is said to be happy with life in Turin and is keen to stay at Juventus, Le 10 Sport a french publication believe Manchester United are ready to splash out on the personal terms once a fee is agreed between the two clubs.

With Vidal's current run of form there could be other teams in Europe other than Manchester United fighting for the midfielder's signature.
