Adnan Januzaj has what it takes to make himself a Manchester United legend if he can realise his potential, according to David Moyes.

The Old Trafford manager has been very impressed with the Belgium-born youngster since he broke into the first team this season and sees the possibility of greatness in him.

Manchester United have been very inconsistent so far in Moyes' first season at the helm and retaining their Premier League title is already looking an unlikely prospect.

However, the emergence of the 18-year-old has been a silver lining to a season that many have described as a hangover after Sir Alex Ferguson announced his retirement at the end of last season.

Moyes is convinced Januzaj can go down in Manchester United history as one of the club's greatest players, but insisted the youngster needed a great deal more time to learn and hone his game.

"Adnan is such a talented footballer," Moyes is quoted as saying by the Manchester Evening News.

"I have no doubt he will go on to be one of the best players to be playing in this country for a long time, and probably even at Manchester United.

"I remember when (Cristiano) Ronaldo came over, a lot of people said the same thing about him.

"Not for a minute would I even try and compare him to Ronaldo because of how good he is. But the boy is only 18. He will get better. He will learn. He will understand the game more."
