Rumours are circulating that the Magpies are looking to sign yet another Remy. It was Loic in the summer but now it's Remy Cabella.

The Montpellier player has been linked with Manchester United and Arsenal but it seems it's the Tyneside club that is making the progress to sign Cabella.

Supposedly, they have made approaches to make a deal though this has been denied by both parties.

However, bad news for Newcastle fans has emerged.

Rolland Courbis, manager of the former Ligue 1 champions, has said that the midfielder is perfectly happy at the club and is going nowhere in January.

Many Geordies are desperate to see some new signings arrive at St James' Park after witnessing the club fall from top of the form ladder to the bottom after losing three times in a row - two of which were at home.

After a bad season last time out, the fans wanted to see owner Mike Ashley invest money to add depth to their squad but nothing materialised.

Two signings were made; Olivier Kemen (a junior player) and Loic Remy, who was brought in on loan from QPR - the side who stole him from under Newcastle's noses last January.

It is possible that Newcastle will only spend if they raise funds.

Yohan Cabaye is one of the possible out-goings - much to the fans dismay - with Arsenal, Man United and PSG all possible buyers. This would make Remy Cabella a direct replacement for Cabaye.
