Lyon ace Clement Grenier has revealed that he will not be leaving the Ligue 1 outfit this month, reports talkSPORT.
The French international, who has been heavily linked to Premier League leaders Arsenal, has insisted that he's happy at the Stade de Gerland and isn't looking for a move away.
It had previously been reported that the 22-year-old was looking for a switch this month, however it now seems that he's likely to stay in France.
Speaking to Le Parisien,Grenier said: "I just responded to a fan who asked me if I would stay in Lyon for my career.
"I just said: 'In football, everything goes very fast - if I say yes and I go this winter, you'll take me for a fool.
"This response has been misinterpreted. A departure is not in my head for this transfer window and I have not asked to leave."
This will come as a blow to Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger as he continues to try and build one of the strongest squads in the Premier League.
The Gunners boss has had to deal with a number of injuries of late and it had been reported that Wenger wanted to add to his side.
However, the Arsenal chief will now have to turn his attention elsewhere, if he's going to make signings in this window. It remains to be seen as to whether Arsenal will swoop for any stars in January as they go in search of league glory.
