New Orleans Saints secured a narrow win over the Philadelphia Eagles in the Wild Card round on Saturday with a late field goal in the 4th quarter - but it all proved to be too much for one Eagles fan.

Philadelphia looked to be heading for the Divisional round when Nick Foles found Zach Ertz for a three-yard touchdown to make it 24-23 to the home side.

However the Saints marched up the field and with seconds remaining moved in range for kicker Shayne Graham to set up a showdown against the Seattle Seahawks.

One Saints fan, Nick Scelfo could barely contain his delight as the kick sailed over - his only problem was that he happened to be surrounded by disgruntled Eagles fans.

One took exception to Scelfo's exuberance, aiming a few choice words at him before launching a spitball in his direction.

Scelfo, from Louisiana, tweeted afterwards: "Saints make game winning kick. I celebrate. I get spit at.
Dodge it. Fight ensues. Video below. #WHODAT"

The video, which you can see above, has been watched by almost 70,000 people since it was uploaded yesterday.

"I hate that one guy has to ruin it for the thousands of great, classy, intelligent and loyal Eagles," the Nicholls State tight end told NBC Philadelphia.

"It's a bit ridiculous to have people act like that."
