Arsenal target Jackson Martinez has stated that he "would not hesitate" if the Gunners were to offer him a chance to play for them.
Martinez, 27, a lifelong Arsenal fan, is currently plying his trade in Portugal for FC Porto but would leave the champions if his favourite team required his services.
The highly rated Colombian scored 26 goals in the Portuguese league last season, and has already netted 12 times in 14 appearances this term.
"I cheered for Arsenal when I was a kid - I love their style of play," he told reporters.
"It's flowing and open with a lot of first touch passes. It would be suitable for a player like me."
The Colombian hitman has been trailed by a number of top Premier League clubs, but his comments will have put Arsenal out in front to land his signature.
His latest comments and Arsenal's need for a world class striker have seen his odds creep down to 7/1, but with Arsene Wenger yet to comment specifically they could fall even further.
Wenger is in the market for a striker to ease the pressure on Olivier Giroud, especially with Nicklas Bendtner out for a month injured.
Martinez is seen as an ideal candidate to lead the line for Arsenal in their bid to win the Premier League for the first time since the 03/04 season.
He will want to stake his claim for the Colombian World Cup squad, despite being a likely inclusion, by proving himself in the Premier League.
