Manchester United could still let Alexander Buttner depart the club despite the full-back insisting he wants to stay at Old Trafford, reports The Daily Mail.
The Red Devils ace, who started in United's FA Cup third round defeat against Swansea City this past weekend, has been the subject of interest from a number of European clubs.
The likes of Genoa, Besiktas and Roma have all been linked with the Dutch star and the Red Devils now look ready to sell him.
Buttner has struggled for chances at the Theatre of Dreams since arriving at the club in 2012 from Vitesse and could now finally end his stint with the Premier League champions.
And, as United prepare to take on Sunderland in the Capital One Cup semi-final first leg tonight, it's unlikely Buttner will keep his place in the side and is expected to be replaced by French full-back Patrice Evra.
Manchester United will be desperate to win at the Stadium of Light tonight as David Moyes' side go in search of a Wembley final.
