Real Madrid full-back Fabio Coentrao will move to Manchester United within the next two weeks, according to reports in Spain.
Former Real Madrid Director of Communications Joaquin Maroto tweeted on Monday that the Portuguese star will swap the Santiago Bernabeu for Old Trafford during the January transfer window.
Maroto said: "The winter market opens: @Fabio_Coentrao goes to Manchester United."
Manchester United boss David Moyes is keen on adding another left-back to his ranks as Patrice Evra is out of contract in the summer and Alexander Buttner could be heading for the Old Trafford exit door.
Moyes was close to signing Coentrao in the summer but was foiled at the last minute due to paperwork implications.
Coentrao reportedly broke down in tears after he was denied a move to Manchester United and spoke to Red Devils star Nani and teammate Cristiano Ronaldo about a potential move to Old Trafford.
However AS journalist Maroto believes the 25-year-old will secure a move to the Premier League within the next fortnight.
Coentrao has played just four times for Real Madrid this season as he has struggled with injury.
