Third choice Tottenham shot-stopper Heurelho Gomes is being targeted by three clubs, according to reports from Sky Sports.

Whilst the goalkeeper spent the second half of last season on loan in Germany the deal wasn't made permanent after Spurs blocked the move with Hoffenheim when a deal was apparently close to completion to let the 32-year-old stay in the Bundesliga.

Although no club has made a formal offer for the Brazilian, the players agent has expressed that there are teams interested the the services of Gomes. Alex Soares told Sky Sports: "At the moment I have received interest from three clubs in relation to Heurelho, there is no formal offer made, it will depend on Tottenham's position."

Due to the lack of first team opportunity at White Heart Lane the Brazilian will have to seek a move if he is to advance his career.

Whilst the identity of the three potential clubs remains a mystery the players agent hopes that Spurs will let Gomes leave the club on a free transfer during this window as it makes no sense to keep hold of the player on his current contract.

"The club is paying high wages and are not using the player. They have other very good goalkeepers as well." said his agent.

Gomes has a reputation in England as a keep who is partial to a big calamity in goal and has failed to hold down a regular spot in the Spurs squad since the arrival of Brad Friedel from Aston Villa back in 2011.

Gomes has played for Tottenham 97 times since joining from PSV in 2008. Whilst he has fallen out of favour he has accused the club of unfair treatment after not allowing the move to Hoffenheim to be done.

Speaking to the Evening Standard about the way in which the club dealt with the transfer, Gomes was far from complimentary towards Spurs.

"They [Spurs] want to recover the €10million they invested in me five years ago. It is not possible. I am ready to go to Germany. Hoffenheim wanted to buy me permanently but Tottenham blocked the move."

He went on to declare "I always tried to leave but Tottenham have never helped me."
