After weeks of controversy surrounding NBA star Andrew Bynum, a deal has finally been reached in order to send him away from the Cleveland Cavaliers to the Chicago Bulls.

Over the past few days it has been seen as almost certain that Bynum, another player and draft picks were going to be traded to the Los Angeles Lakers for Pau Gasol. Gasol would be an asset to the Cavs and turn them in to a possible contender.

The possible trade took a drastic turn when the Chicago Bulls decided to step in, offering Luol Deng for Bynum and future picks. The Bulls acquired the Cavs' rights to the Sacramento Kings' first-round draft pick, the right to trade their own 2015 first-round draft pick with the Cavs and the Portland Trail Blazers' 2015 second-round picks which the Cavs acquired on the 2013 draft night.

The Bulls are expected to waive Bynum and the Miami Heat and the Los Angeles Clippers are the most likely destinations for Bynum to land until the end of the season. Some fans have raised the question as to whether or not Bynum will retire but it is expected that he will remain a player at least until the end of the season.

Personally, I think that this trade is good for both sides. The Cavs get an All-Star whose defensive ability will improve their team greatly and the Bulls gain future picks which will allow them to start to rebuild for the future. A good trade all round.
