LeBron James ID'ed by hotel bartender

LeBron James - one of the most recognisable sports stars on the planet - couldn't believe it when he was carded by an unsuspecting bartender, at a hotel in Orlando last week.

The 6ft 8in Miami Heat power forward - who, for the record is 29 years of age - was trying to buy a drink at a bar, when he was asked to show some identification.

Eight years above the drinking age, LeBron advised the bartender to "look at my beard", but that wasn't enough to satisfy the hotel worker.

The four-time NBA MVP refrained from informing the employee of exactly who he was, but was understandably surprised by the questioning which occurred during the Orange Bowl on Friday night.

James - a huge Ohio State fan - didn't let the incident ruin his evening, even after his beloved Buckeyes ended up on the receiving end of a 40-35 loss against the Clemson Tigers at the Sun Life Stadium, Miami Gardens, Florida.
