Miami Heat superstar LeBron James filed the latest contender for his greatest ever dunk last night as Erik Spoelstra's men cruised to victory over the New Orleans Pelicans at American Airlines Arena.
It was a comfortable evening in the end for the Heat, with James dropping 32 points as the reigning NBA champions recovered from a shaky opening to record an emphatic 107-88 win on their home floor.
The highlight of the evening came with nine minutes remaining in the third quarter. With the Heat down 54-48 at this stage, four-time MVP James set the tone for the inevitable comeback with a quite sensational alley-oop slam.
Fellow All-Star Dwayne Wade brought the ball down the court and jinked past his defender thanks to a timely screen from Rashard Lewis.
At the same time, James made a quick cut to the basket from the left baseline. Seeing his man open, Wade threw up the pass toward the rim.
Initially it looked far too high for James to connect with, but the 29-year-old showcased his unrivalled athleticism by soaring hight to slam home with one hand.
