Auburn Tigers coach Gus Malzahn is an offensive guru - anyone who watched the BCS National Championship game knows that.
And it seems he's left a legacy of awesomeness around Division One football at his previous coaching jobs.
Take Arkansas State for instance. Malzahn spent last season at the college before joining Auburn, and according to CBS Sports, this play - called "Hide the midget" - was part of his playbook.
For obvious reasons, it has been retained by the current Arkansas State coaching staff.
And against Ball State in the GoDaddy Bowl last weekend, we got to see it in all its glory.
See if you can guess what happens in the play just by the formation Arkansas State line up in. It's an ingenious move, and results in a pretty handy gain for the Red Wolves.
Arkansas State won the game 23-20. Unfortunately, Malzahn's current team couldn't get the win in the National Championship game, falling to the Florida State Seminoles 34-31.
Anyway, check out the "Hide the midget" play above...
